Tim Pawlak earned his BSME in 1982 and his MSME in 1993, both from WVU. He has worked for 26 years for ANSYS, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of advanced engineering analysis software. He has risen from an entry-level position to his present title of research and development fellow, the highest rung on the technical ladder at ANSYS. He is highly respected by his colleagues and his company's clients for his technical knowledge and his commitment to developing innovative, user-friendly products.
Beginning in 1984, Pawlak first worked on the development of software for the analysis of structures and machinery. His work later expanded to include electromagnetics, and Pawlak was in charge of developing this new area for his company. In 1995, he became a key member of a small team developing a new product called Design Space. Since being named an R&D fellow, Pawlak has continued to work in research and development of advanced user interfaces to the ANSYS Workbench and its entire suite of analysis software.
