Dr. Balsara has served as a research scientist and a manager for the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station since 1966. He has been involved with development of methods to predict structural responses to dynamic loadings such as those caused by weapons’ effects and earthquakes. He became Chief of the Structural Mechanics Division, Structures Laboratory, supervising more than 50 people, and serves on several government panels. He has received many commendations for his work, and has developed technology in his technical field recognized and used throughout the world.
