Mr. Robert Walter, a native of Grafton, WV began his career at the Boeing Company in basic research in the fatigue and fail-safe research group. Subsequent assignments consisted of preliminary design studies for military aircraft and durability and damage tolerant design for Supersonic Transport. During his career, Mr. Walter was assigned responsibility for the 707, 727, 737, B-1, T-43A, AWACS, and other military aircraft. He was promoted to team leader for criteria development; design and testing of an Air Force sponsored Advanced Wing Carry Through Structure demonstration program for advanced concepts and materials. The author of several technical publications, Mr. Walter is a member of the AIAA, Seattle Professional Engineers Association, and Boeing Management Association and was honored as “Engineer of the Year” by the Washington Society of Professional Engineers. He retired from Boeing in July 1999.
