Mr. Thomas Lee Moore II (1983, BSME) has served in various engineering and management positions in the defense and aerospace industry for over 35 years, compiling an outstanding record of achievement and advancement. In his most recent position as the Director of Tactical Propulsion Advanced and Development Programs for Northrop Grumman’s Missile Products unit in Rocket Center, WV, Mr. Moore has been responsible for managing a rapidly increasing portfolio of R&D contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense valued at over $100 million. From 2014 to 2016, he served as the inaugural director of the Defense Systems Information Analysis Center, which was preceded by positions with the former Alliant Techsystems and Hercules Aerospace Company. From 1993 to 2007, he served on the technical staff of The Johns Hopkins University’s Chemical Propulsion Information Analysis Center (CPIAC), rising to the position of Deputy Director. Mr. Moore has actively served the aerospace community through his work on the Joint Army-Navy-NASA-Air Force (JANNAF) Interagency Propulsion Committee, as well as membership in AIAA where he is an Associate Fellow and received the Solid Rockets Outstanding Service Award in 2004. Mr. Moore received his Master of Science in Technical Management from The Johns Hopkins University in 2001 and has authored a number of magazine articles, journal articles, and technical papers on solid rocket propulsion.

Moore, II Inducted 2019 BSME 1983, WVU MS 2001, The Johns Hopkins University Mr. Thomas Lee Moore II served in various engineering and management positions in the defense and aerospace industry for nearly 40 years, compiling an outstanding record of technical and programmatic achievement, business growth, and advancement. As the Director of Advanced and Development Programs for Northrop Grumman’s Missile Products unit in Rocket Center, WV from 2016 to 2021, Mr. Moore successfully managed a rapidly increasing portfolio of solid propulsion R&D contracts for the U.S. Department of Defense valued at over $100 million. From 2014 to 2016 he served as the inaugural director of the Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC) in Belcamp, MD, which was preceded by various engineering and program management positions with the former Orbital ATK, Alliant Techsystems, and Hercules Aerospace Company, respectively. From 1993 to 2007, Mr. Moore served on the technical and management staff of The Johns Hopkins University’s Chemical Propulsion Information Analysis Center (CPIAC), rising to the position of Deputy Director. He actively supported the aerospace industry through his participation in the Joint Army-Navy-NASA-Air Force (JANNAF) Interagency Propulsion Committee, as well as long-term membership in the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) where he was elected Associate Fellow, served as a past technical committee chair, and received the Solid Rockets Outstanding Service Award in 2004. He has received citations from the U.S. Navy, NASA, academia, and industry for his technical contributions to the missile and rocket propulsion community. Mr. Moore received his Master of Science degree in Technical Management from The Johns Hopkins University in 2001 and has authored numerous magazine articles, journal articles, technical papers, and reports on solid rocket propulsion. Following his retirement from full-time employment in 2021, Mr. Moore served as a technical consultant for the solid propulsion industry.
